Injectable neurotoxin treatments, sometimes referred to as “wrinkle relaxers”, are ideal for clients that desire to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the forehead, between the brows (glabellar creases), and crow’s feet that are caused by muscle movement (dynamic lines).  Neurotoxin treatments can also be used along the jawline, in the platysma bands of the neck and in the lower face to to give clients a lifted and refreshed look.  During your visit our team will consult with you and help you decided which neurotoxin product and treatment is right for you.  

During your treatment you can expect minimal discomfort.  You can anticipate your treatment to take 10 minutes or less once your consultation and care plan have been completed. 

Following your appointment and injections, you can expect minimal downtime. We do ask that you avoid the following:

• exercise for 24 hours post-treatment
• avoid wearing hats or visors the day of treatment
• do not lay flat for 4 hours post-treatment 
• avoid massage or pressure to the treated areas
• you may reapply makeup after treatment, but apply gently.

You might see some slight bruising, redness, and/or small area of swelling at the  injection site , but these symptoms are temporary. Over the next few days, you will begin to see the  beginning of your results setting in.  Expect to wait a full 14 days for the maximum results. Onset of results can be shorter or longer than a few days depending on the neurotoxin product used.  

The effective window of neurotoxin treatments utilizing  Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, or Jeuveau®  will vary from person to person, but you can expect the results to last between three and four months. With Daxxify® you can generally anticipate four plus months of effective duration, although every client is different.  Once the window of effectiveness closes, your full normal muscle function returns (along with the lines and wrinkles) associated with the muscle movement. 

Not really! Very thin needles are used to inject neurotoxins.  Most Summers Aesthetics clients report little to no discomfort outside of a slight pinch or a little pressure during the procedure.
